High school students are given many opportunities to have a college campus experience while in high school. This page will be updated regularly with a variety of campus events.

By attending the DSU Preview, you’ll get a chance to experience what it’s like to be a student at Dixie State University. You’ll also get to meet and make friends with other seniors looking to attend Dixie State. It’s an awesome weekend filled with fun activities, interactive presentations, food, and more!

Summer Opportunities:
 
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah will offer a four-week-long mathematics program for talented high school students from June 11 - July 6, 2018. This program is an intensive and deep focus on number theory and should be a transformative experience for students.  The Deadline to Apply: March 31Click here for all the details and the link to the application.
 
 
 
 
 
Boys State will be held June 11-15 at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.  Boys are eligible to attend the summer after their junior year. For more information, click here.

Engineering State is a fun-filled 4-day summer camp for students entering their senior year of high school. Participants explore how engineering has changed our world and learn what earning a degree in engineering is all about. Many of our graduates have majored in engineering and now have successful, fulfilling careers.  Registration fills up quickly and is done on a first come first served basis.  Application opens January 1 and closes March 17, 2018.  Cost: $250 - includes accommodations and all meals.
 
 
University of Utah June 11-15

The University of Utah, College of Engineering is pleased to offer our Annual Hi – GEAR Program, a special week-long event for female high school students grades 10-12.

Hi-GEAR is designed to expose young women to a variety of engineering and computer science careers with hands-on experiential learning and collaborative team projects. Some past activities include: building trebuchets for launching water balloons, making perfume using distillation, programming and racing robots, extracting DNA, and touring University research labs. Participants interact with Hi-GEAR mentors (female college engineering students, female faculty and staff) who guide them through this program.

Participants will also have the opportunity to earn scholarships to study engineering as a college student at the University of Utah!

This exciting, one week overnight camp is for youth ages 15-18 who love creating and being around other creatives too. This year we are making some exciting changes, combining all three design tracks into one amazing experience for everyone, with a blend of illustration, graphic design, and photography. Amazing professors and design student counselors will help you take your work and creativity to the next level. The Friday gallery show is always a highlight, and seeing old friends and making new ones is sure to make this an unforgettable week!
